WE ARE WAITING YOUR IDEAS FOR THE FOUNDATION OF THE SCIENCE OF PREHISTORIC ART
Our circular- call of July 8, 2002 (also published in this Magazine) for the foundation of a science of prehistoric art, has had a good response of proposals from Australia, Europe and North America..
Instead, there are no replies from Africa, Asia and South America.
Who wrote us are mainly Academics, but here we want to encourage also the students and the amateurs of prehistoric art to communicate us their opinions within September 30.
In this regard we would to add:
1) A synthesis of the opinions will be published in anonymous form for privacy's respect of those who have collaborated;
2) You can send us your ideas on what you would add to current studies on prehistoric art;
3) If you agree with our proposals expressed in the call of July, 8, please communicate to us that you approved ;
4) If you think that the modality with which the prehistoric art has been studied and divulged until today is well, please write to us equally;
5) From the mails received in these two months, it emerges that there are some who approve the name "Paleoarteology", and some who propose "Archeoartology",, so if you write to us, please indicate also one of the two names, buti f you have to suggest a more
interesting name, please, suggest it to us.
NOTE: The "foundation" of the Science of the Prehistoric Art has nothing to do with a "notarial act", that is not an association of scholars of prehistoric art, but it is the setting up of a method with a set of norms to adopt and to divulge, that will engage only who is convinced of it.
